The Origin Of Pharmaceutical Drugs

From here the image was adopted into Greek mythology where it became the symbol of Asclepius, the Greek god of healing. Asclepius was symbolized by a serpent winding about a pole. Today that same symbol is used by the modern medical profession. "Ahaziah ... was sick.... and said ... Go, inquire of Baalzebub ( "Lord of Flies"), the god of Ekron, whether I shall recover from this disease." (2 Ki. 1:2-3). This was the god of filth and dung, the patron deity of medicine. "RX" is today the sign for "prescription" but it came from Egypt and originally referred to the "Eye of Horus" (The Body by A.E. Nourse, p.10) or to the pagan symbol for Jupiter. "And Asa ... was diseased in his feet ... yet in his disease he sought not the Eternal, but the physicians" (2 Chr. 16:12). He trusted ONLY in the physicians, rather than ALSO in the Eternal (an incident that has led some to needlessly reject medical treatment for themselves, or their families, with sometimes tragic results - it should be kept in mind, for example, that Luke, the writer of the Gospel book that bears his name, a man of great faith and righteousness, was a practicing physician). Notice another example: "Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria (ONLY), and not relied on the Lord thy God (ALSO), therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand" (2 Chr. 16:7). Many of these contrasts are found throughout scripture with "ONLY ... ALSO" left out. The word translated "sorceries" in Revelation 9:21, 18:23, 21:8, and 22:15 is the Greek word pharmakeia or pharmakos. This is how we got our English word pharmacist, or druggist. Thayer's Greek-English Lexicon defines pharmakeia as "the use or the administering of drugs; poisoning; sorcery, magical arts." Galatians 5:20 translates it "witchcraft." With this as background, Christians should avoid drugs. King Asa sought the physicians to cure his foot trouble. “Asa . . . was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the Lord, but to the physicians. And Asa . . . died!” (2 Chron.16:12-13.) Asa wasn’t cured!

"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God? ... If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy" (1 Cor.3:16). Salk polio vaccine is made from the kidneys of rhesus MONKEYS. Rabies vaccine is made from the rabid brains of DOGS or RABBITS. "Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you" (Lev. 11:8). DPT (diphtheria pertussis tetanus) vaccine is made from rotten HORSE'S BLOOD that has been injected with DIPHTHERIA, to which is added a poisonous MERCURY derivative Thimersol. Typhoid serum is made from decomposed FECAL MATTER from Typhoid patients (cp. Ez.4:12-14); Smallpox vaccine is made from GLYCERINE, PUS, LYMPH and BLOOD from a calf. Putrified duck eggs are used to manufacture measles, mumps and flu vaccines. GLYCERINE, PUS from a DEAD or DYING animal, CHLOROFORM, and FORMALDEHYDE are other ingredients (Immunizations: The Reality Behind the Myth, pp.10,72). But "Ye shall not eat of anything that dieth of itself" (Deut.14:21) and "flesh with the life (blood) thereof ... shall ye not eat" (Gen.9:4). Dr. E.J. Post said, "I have removed cancers from vaccinated arms exactly where the poison was injected." Such well-known diseases as cancer, leukemia, paralysis, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, and SIDS are linked to immunizations (Physicians Desk Reference, 1980, p.1866). Most states provide waivers permitting parents to object to mandated vaccines on personal, religious, or philosophical grounds. Thalidomide was considered to be a very mild tranquilizer or sedative. It was tested and found to be safe in experiments with the usual species of pregant test animals. It was thought so safe that it was sold over the counter without prescription in 1961-1962. Not until after some 5000 European and English babies were born malformed with flipper-like arms, hands attached almost directly to shoulders, and in some cases no arms or legs at all -- a direct result of mothers-to-be taking thalidomide in early pregnancy -- did doctors realize how vulnerable an unborn infant is to drugs, even a drug as "mild" and "safe" as thalidomide. As Morris Fishbein, M.D. warns, "Mothers should sharply restrict their intake of medicines. The effects of most drugs on the developing fetus are still largely unknown. Therefore, prudence dictates the avoidance of tranquilizers, weight-reducing pills, and probably even aspirin. Furthermore, the birth process itself is best accomplished with a minimum of analgesia and anesthesia. Evidence is accumulating that implicates these substances, even when utilized in modest amounts, in the causation of subtle forms of cerebral dysfunction and othjer learning disorders in later childhood" (Successful Marriage, 1971, p. 295).

Even in early New Testament times we have the record of “a woman, having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any” (Luke 8:43) . This woman’s case is not uncommon today! Many of you “spent all your living upon physicians” and yet weren’t any better!
But weren’t these failures due to doctors who were ignorant and crude? Perhaps. But some things have't changed much. For instance, modern drugs are not really so different from those used by doctors and physicians in ancient times!

Ancient Pharmacy

Dr. Howard W. Haggard, in his widely read history of medicine, Devils, Drugs and Doctors, reports: “The narcotic drugs . . . were used in the past as they are used today" (p. 97). Dr. Castiglioni goes on to say, “The Papyri that have been mentioned contain an enormous number of prescriptions. The Ebers Papyrus alone contains almost a thousand, the components of which are not yet all known to us ... Medicines were prescribed in all the forms still in use today” (p.51-52). Solomon was right when he said, “There is no new thing under the sun.’’ Ancient physicians even as far away as China “knew about preventive inoculation for smallpox . . . in 1105 B.C.”
(Medicine and Man, p. 53). Modern “science” considers valuable the ancient Chinese “concoctions of toadskins, as a treatment for dropsy ...The virtue of toadskins,” says the “eminent” scientific writer Ritchie Calder, “lies in its richness in bufagin, which produces a free flow of urine, so helping to drain the tissues, and in adrenalin, which slows down the heart ratio, increases the blood pressure, and speeds up the secretion of sugar” (Medicine and Man, p. 53). Modern medicine prescribes the same drugs and medicines used by the ancients and often produced from the same slimy, filthy sources.

King Ahaziah died in the hands of those physicians who were the representatives of Baalzebub, the god of medicine (I1 Kings 1:2-4, 16-17). They could not cure him. Notice that they thought their god cured the sick and afflicted through their medicines -- just as doctors do today. But who was “Baalze-bub”? Baalzebub, the god of medicine, was the “god of dung” or the “god of filth.” Ancient physicians guided by their god Baalzebub used filth to try to prevent or cure disease, just as today doctors inject people with polio vaccine made from monkey pus. “The inoculation of human pus from small pox cases had been known since far distant times” (A History of Medicine, p. 641). Haven’t most of you had pus and other filth put into your systems in the form of diphtheria, tetanus, smallpox, polio or other “shots”?

Asclepius was symbolized by a serpent winding about a pole. “The Semitic peoples of Syria, Palestine, and Phoenicia worshiped the god of healing Esmun . . . who was often represented as holding a rod in his hand about which are twined two serpents’’ (p. 121). This is the emblem of Mercury, the Greek god of commerce and thieves and is the emblem of modern medical science (pp. 74-75). If Christ became sin for us (a snake), so that we could be healed, who is the other serpent? How did a symbol with two snakes replace the one-snake symbol?

“The serpent was by no means confined to the Greeks. It figures in almost all primitive medicine....The serpent was synonymous with wisdom . . . it knew both good and evil -- poison and antidote -- and . . . was the ally of the doctor” (Medicine and Man, p. 59). Even in ancient times men believed God worked through the doctors with their knives and drugs. But the question is which God? Was it the true God of the universe, or was it “the god of this world" (2 Cor. 4:4), Satan the Devil? He appeared as a serpent in the garden of Eden and deceived Eve into taking of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Rx Symbol From Egypt

Have you ever wondered what the Rx symbol on doctors’ prescriptions means? It is a symbol identifying modern medical science. But where did it originate? From Babylon and Egypt! Read what Ritchie Calder, “one of today’s outstanding scientists,” has to say: “When the new-fledged doctor fresh from his course in twentieth-century medical science examines his first patient and writes the first prescription, he avows himself a neophyte (new member) of a pagan magical cult. He may not know it as he scribbles his instructions to dispense the latest antibiotic or the newest sulfa drug, but, at the top of his prescription, he writes Rx . . . and. in this act he invokes Horus, the bird-headed god of the Egyptians. . . . As Sir William Osler pointed out, it is the ‘Eye of Horus,’ the Egyptian amulet dating back 5000 years . . . Horus became the god of healing and his eye the protecting device.”

Horus was none other than the Egyptian form of Nimrod reborn (Gen. 10:8-9), the foundcr of this world’s society which is in rebellion against God. He was worshiped as the sun-god. “During Roman times, Galen (130- 200 A.D.) advised his fellow physicians to sprinkle their writings with Egyptian symbols to impress their patients, and one of those symbols was the Eye of Horus. At first it depicted two eyes, which became corrupted into two Roman ‘R’s, 'back to back, . . . and later to a kind of Z,' . . . which was the sign of Zeus, or Jupiter, and this, in turn, was rationalized back to Rx. “Like the sacred snake of Aesculapius, the crest of the physician, this is a reminder that modern medicine is the heir to a long tradition of myth and magic. And the influence of ancient Egypt was immense” (Medicine and Man, pp. 53-54).

But let us go on with the story. Much of the medical knowledge of ancient Egyptians and Greeks was lost during the Dark Ages. Gradually over centuries men began to discover once again in early modern times the medical facts that had been known thousands of years before. Men today have looked at the ignorance and squalor that existed in the Dark Ages and have assumed that man is always getting better and better! But this is not true.

“Modern” Drugs and Medicines

How did Big Pharma come to control the medical industry? The CDC, FDA, NIH, medical schools, etc.? John D. Rockefeller hijacked US medicine. When it was discovered that drugs could be produced from petroleum, he turned reality upside down with his propaganda. Medicines used for thousands of years were classified as alternative while the new petroleum-based, highly addictive and patentable drugs were given preferred status. After buying a German pharmaceutical company, that manufactured chemicals of war for Adolph Hitler, Rockefeller leveraged his political influence to pressure Congress to declare natural healing modalities unscientific quackery. Rockefeller then took control of the AMA and began offering massive grants to top medical schools with the mandate that only his approved curriculum be taught. Any mention of the healing power of herbs, plants or diet was erased from most medical textbooks. Doctors and professors who objected were stripped of their licenses to teach and practise medicine and removed from the AMA. Those who spoke out were arrested and jailed. When evidence began to emerge that petroleum-based medicines were causing cancer, Rockefeller founded the American Cancer Society through which he suppressed that information. John D. Rockefeller is duly credited as the founder of the pharmaceutical industry and the reason that medical error is the third leading cause of death in the US. This is not an indictment against doctors. More than anyone, they are under the stranglehold of the single largest lobbying power in Washington. Every year the pharmaceutical industry spends at least twice the amount as big oil to influence laws, policies and public perception. Thanks to Rockefeller, the architect of American monopolies, no industry has more power over our lives than Big Pharma (Moderna, Pfizer, Merck, Johnson & Johnson, Gilead, Sanofi). In 1986 President Ronald Reagan signed the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act giving total immunity to vaccine manufacturers. After a decade of lawsuits due to vaccine injuries and death, the makers were going bankrupt. The vaccine makers threatened to stop making vaccines unless they could be shielded from liability. To this day, when someone is injured or killed as a result of an adverse reaction, its the US taxpayers that pay for the damages. In 2015, Billionaire Bill Gates said, "If we do a really good job with new vaccines, health care, reproductive health, we can lower it (world population) perhaps by 10 or 15%." Over 490,000 paralyzed children in India are the result of Gates' Foundation which supported oral Polio vaccine from 2000-2017. Gates is also behind GMO mosquitos that are "flying syringes" to fight malaria; and a Quantum dot tattoo on humans to give digital proof of immunity. Patent number W/O/2020/060606 allows people to participate in crypto-currency buying and selling by taking the vaccine which has a sensor to transmit data to a third party to enslave humanity. It's never been about health. Benjamin Rush, signer of the Declaration of Independence, said, "Unless we put medical freedom into the Constitution, a time will come when medicine will organize into an under-cover dictatorship and restrict the art of healing to one class of men and deny equal privileges to others."

When we look into the practices of modern medicine we find that drugs, after physical rest, are the most often used therapeutic measures at the physicians’ command. But what do doctors admit about their own drugs? "A former Harvard professor of anatomy said once it would be worse for the fishes but better for mankind if all drugs were thrown into the sea. Of another Harvard professor of therapeutics it was told that his qualification for the chair was that no man living knew better the worthlessness of more drugs. ...In spite of these sayings, drugs continue to be the mainstay of treatment" (p. 20 of Modern Methods of Treatment by Logan Clendening, M.D. Assistant Professor of Medicine, Lecturer on Therapeutics, Medical Department of the University of Kansas; Attending Physician, Kansas City General Hospital).

Backing up this statement, Chapman Pincher, of the London Express Service, in an article in the El Paso Herald Post of December 4, 1958, reported the findings of the noted British physicians “Dr. William Summerskill . . . and Dr. Arthur Alvarez . . . first class observers working under the eminent chief, Dr. Avery Jones. . . . [Their] results [of tests proving the harmful effects of the most common drugs] are to be made known in the Lancet, the senior medical journal of the world.” Wrote Chapman Pincher: “The drug with no ill effects has yet to be made. . . . With all drugs, which must affect the body mechanism to produce any results at all, the doctor who prescribes them knows he must balance the risks against advantages.”

Dr. Joel Wallach has said repeatedly that out of 250,000 drugs, if you take out the 500 antibiotics to cure infections, there are 249,500 pharmaceuticals that don't cure anything. They just "milk" the insurance system. There's no law requiring pharmaceuticals to cure diseases -- so they don't. There's no law requiring medical doctors to cure people -- so they don't -- even though the cure is available. The doctor's primary concern is not to help people, but to pay his bills every month. Unnecessary procedures, tests, surgery, and perscriptions are what pay their bills. There's no money in a cure. But to "milk" the insurance program with treatments pays the bills.

The Effects of Drugs

An astounding number of Americans are taking medications. Per capita, we take more medications than adults in any other country. Each year, pharmacies fill more than 4 billion prescriptions. Fifty-five percent of Americans now take at least one drug, and almost 12% take five or more prescription drugs. 

Pharmacists and doctors discuss the obvious side effects of medications, such as nausea, and weight gain. Drug-induced nutrient depletions and medication-induced osteoporosis, however, are rarely discussed. Many medications strip the body of crucial nutrients, which can contribute to osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, and other health problems. 

• Acid blockers deplete people of vitamin B12, folic acid, and minerals such as iron and zinc. They also damage bone and increase the hip fracture risk by 60%.
• Diuretics for high blood pressure can decrease B vitamins, vitamin C, magnesium, calcium, zinc, and other nutrients.
• Beta-blockers such as propranolol decrease melatonin, which can create insomnia.
•  Antibiotics can decrease vitamin K and B complex vitamins like vitamin B2, vitamin B6, and biotin.
• Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant medications like Prozac damage bones and increase fracture risk.

The use of drugs, in an attempt to take away the penalty for broken physical laws, has produced some horrifying consequences. The February, 1956, issue of the well-known medical magazine, Todar’s Health, stated: “Some new disease symptoms may be caused by highly processed foods or by wonder drugs.” “. . . antibiotics may alter the nature of bacteria in the intestinal tract, some of which are helpful and useful, Dr. Karver L. Puestoq, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine, told the American College Gastroenterology.” Men, rather than trusting God for healing, are producing new diseases as they try to get rid of the ones they already have brought upon themselves by wrong living habits. In the process, thousands are slowly dying from man’s attempted cures.

“Penicillin has been called ‘the queen of drugs,’ but can this description still be upheld in view of the increasing number of severe and fatal reactions reported in medical papers? ... Penicillin came into general use in 1943,” says this article, “but the first death from penicillin therapy was not reported until 1946. Another three years elapsed before a second fatality occurred. During the last 10 years, however, severe reactions have been reported with increasing frequency and the number of fatal cases has multiplied rapidly. By 1955, some 560 severe reactions had been reported, 81 of them fatal, and by 1957 it was estimated that some 2000 deaths from anaphylaxis due to penicillin had occurred in the United States alone” (Los Angeles Times, Feb. 1, 1959). These facts clearly prove that drugs are poisons. They do harm to the body. This is why “pharmacy,” in the original Greek language from which the word comes signified the use of any kind of drug . . . and hence also poison and witchcraft” (Encyclopedia Britannica, 11th edition, article “Pharmacy”).

Captopril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor drug that is used to treat high blood pressure. Its main compound is derived from a species of PIT VIPER found in Brazil. Prialt is derived from the VENOM of CONE SNAILS and is used by some of the estimated 22 million adults in the US who suffer from severe and chronic pain. Another drug class mentioned is Byetta, which lowers blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes. Its main ingredient, extendin-4, is found in the saliva of the Gila monster, a large LIZARD species native to the southwestern US and northwestern Mexico. Insulin was the first ever SNAKE VENOM-based peptide drug to be developed. Venom-based drugs like Integrilin, which is made from the VENOM of the pygmy RATTLESNAKE, have been used to treat COVID blood clots.

Bible Describes Modern Medicine

God says that “pharmacy” translated “witchcraft” in Galatians 5:20 is one of Satan’s deceptions, trusting in chemicals instead of God to get rid of disease or pain. It is a work of the flesh (Gal. 5:20) -- a lack of faith. The word “witchcraft” in this verse is a mistranslation in the King James Version. The original Greek is pharmakeia and means “medication” or “pharmacy” (see Strong’s Exhuustive Concordance).

It is carnality to trust in medication to remove disease or pain instead of trusting God “who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases” (Ps. 103:3) . We need to ask ourselves, “Just what is healing?” Healing is God’s forgiveness of physical sins. In Luke 5:18-26 a man sick with the palsy was brought to Christ. Christ startled the people by saying “thy sins be forgiven thee.” Why did He say that? He goes on to tell us, “that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins” (v. 24). What kind? Sin against our bodies, physical sins that cause disease, suffering and ultimately premature death. To show that He has power to forgive physical as well as spiritual sins, Christ said to the sick man, “Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.” Christ healed him by forgiving his physical sins. Healing is the forgiveness of sins -- and God alone can forgive sins (v. 21). (See also John 5:2-14.)

In Isaiah‘s prophesy concerning the first coming of Christ and His suffering for us, God says: “Surely our diseases He did bear, and our pains He carried. . . . He was wounded because of our transgressions” -- of the physical laws that govern our health -- “And with His stripes we are healed” (Isa. 53:4, 5 {Jewish Translation}; 1 Pet. 2:24). Perhaps trusting in chemicals to take away our diseases and pains is a substitute for the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us. Yet Jesus said that the “sick need a physician” (Mark 2:17). But which physician? The word “physician” means “healer.” Doctors admit that no drug or medicine can heal. Jesus Christ’s broken body pays for our physical sins in full when we repent and turn to Him. God is the only real Physician. Yes , men can remove a thorn or splinter, so that the body can begin to heal itself. Circumcision is a surgical operation performed by men. But God says, “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me. . . . I am the Eternal that healcth thee” or “the Eternal your Physician” or “your Healer” (Ex.20: 3; 15:26).

Today there is a crying need for doctors who know God‘s health laws to tell people how not to become sick. Jesus said to the man whom he had healed, “Behold, thou are made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing befall thee” (John 5:14). Yes, we need doctors to tell us which health laws we have broken so we won’t make the same mistakes and bring more suffering on ourselves.

Arguments For Using Medicines

God allows the use of medicine in Revelation 22:2, where He says that in the New Jerusalem there will be “the tree of life . . . and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” This is prefigured in Ezekiel: “the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine” (Ezek. 47:12). However, herbal medicines are not the same thing as the drugs and medicines used in hospitals. Every first aid kit should contain such items as activated charcoal, colloidal silver, herbs, vodka, etcetera. A patient may ask, “Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed?” (Jer. 15:18). Perhaps the answer is the wrong kind of cure. Taking drugs, radiation and chemotherapy. “In vain shalt thou use many (such) medicines; for thou shalt not be cured,” because “thou hast no healing medicines!” (Jer. 46:11; 30-13). Herbal medicines and mineral-rich, healthy foods are the best medicines. Even then, only God can heal disease and remove pain by forgiving physical sins.

The tree of life that will be in the new Jerusalem typifies Gods Holy Spirit just as did the tree of life in the Garden in Eden (Gen. 3:22). The nations will receive healing then just as we must now, through the everliving power of God’s Spirit. That tree is merely the symbol of it. It is not on earth today- it will come down “out of heaven” in the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21:2; 22:l-2).

Some doctors say that God was the first to use anesthetics to perform surgery when He “caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib which the Lord God had taken from man, made He a woman” (Gen. 2:21-22).

The use of drugs, pain killers, tranquilizers, surgery and all the rest of man’s attempts to heal.

Using Drugs Is “Witchcraft”

"The knowledge of medicine, derived from the art of DIVINATION, through which of old it was that the sick obtained their recovery" (Diodorus 5:20). Those who don’t repent of taking pharmaceutical drugs are going to suffer the excruciating agonies of the seven last plagues (Rev. 9:21; 18:23; 21:8; 22:15). Again the King James mistranslates the Greek word, pharmakeia, this time as “sorceries" -- this word means "the use or administering of drugs" (see Thayer's Greek-English Lexicon).

But those who still won’t repent even after the millennium and trust in God to apply the beating Christ received as payment for our physical suffering will have no part in the eternal Kingdom of God (Rev. 22: 15). “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, . . . and sorcerers, and idolators . . . shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” (Rev. 21:7-8). The word here translated “sorcerers” comes from the Greek word pharmakeus which means one who prepares or administers drugs--“a druggist" or “a pharmacist" or a “poisoner” (Strong‘s Exhaustive Concordance). Drugs are poisons, and every “poisoner” is going to end up in the lake of fire unless he repents. Taking drugs is “sorcery,” “witchcraft” and “idolatry". Those who take drugs will suffer agony now and an excruciating death-- the second death in the lake of fire. The choice is OURS. WHICH WILL You CHOOSE?

The Pill -- Pathway to Promiscuity and Problems

Did you know that an estimated 150 million women worldwide take birth control pills? Yet there are serious health implications of these drugs. When you take birth control pills, you impose synthetic hormones on your natural ovulation-menstruation cycle. Many birth control pills contain high levels of estrogen that effectively convince your pituitary gland that you are pregnant (this explains some of the side effects of the drugs) and that you don’t need to ovulate. Because your body thinks you are pregnant, the uterine lining thickens. Once you start the placebo pills, however, your estrogen level drops suddenly, and your body menstruates “normally.” This abnormal cycle is what millions of women experience every month, and yet few doctors discuss the consequences of taking these prescriptions for year after year.

Some physical and emotional changes take place that are permanent while you stay on the pill. Many of these changes occur as your body’s response to synthetic estrogen. These changes include: Increased risk of cervical and breast cancers; Increased risk of heart attack and stroke; Migraines; Higher blood pressure; Gall bladder disease; Infertility; Benign liver tumors; Decreased bone density; Yeast overgrowth and infection; Increased risk of blood clotting; Cancer; heart disease; stroke; infertility. Surely these side effects make birth control pills a less than desirable option for contraception. And now that heart disease has become the leading cause of death among women, one has to wonder if there is a connection between the widespread and long-term use of oral contraceptives, which debuted in 1960... just as the first of the baby boomers were entering their teens. Yeast overgrowth and yeast infections (candida), too, are particularly dangerous to your overall health. Birth control pills actually destroy the beneficial bacteria in your intestines, making you more susceptible to yeast overgrowth, lower immunity and infection. After years and years of taking birth control pills and creating an imbalanced inner ecosystem (with an overgrowth of bad bacteria and yeast), it is no wonder that women are at greater risk for infections as well as chronic diseases like cancer.

The Pill, which has freed women from unwanted pregnancies, has also freed them from sexual restraint! The results? Increased spread of genital infections, including syphilis and gonorrhea. The Pill is one of the main forces behind the "sexual revolution" and has consequently unloosed an avalanche of sexual promiscuity and permissiveness! In Sweden, increasing use of the Pill has been blamed for alarming rises in venereal diseases. Gonorrhea, especially, has shown recent rapid increases. Syphilis is spreading also. Says Dr. H. Williams in his book The Pill in New Perspective: "It (the Pill) has REVOLUTIONIZED SEXUAL MORES and attitudes for many, and it has become the symbol of a new era" (p. 3, our emphasis). Says Professor Martin B. Loeb, director of the School of Social Work at the University of Wisconsin, "...Women are now sexually free wherever they are, just as men have always been. They have a sense of mastery of their own bodies" (The Pill and Its Impact, by Ostermann and Arnold, pp. 21-27).

Every transgression of God's Law has a serious penalty. So while God's Word endorses the principle of birth control, it contains some powerful statements against immorality. The Apostle Paul warns "Flee immorality!" (1 Corinthians 6:18) -- "the immoral man sins against his body" (same verse, Moffatt translation). The Amplified Bible gives the full force of the meaning of this verse: "Shun immorality and all sexual looseness — flee from impurity [in thought, word or deed). Any other sin which a man commits is one outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."
