Exodus Chapter 26 Star Chart: Israelites began construction of the Tabernacle after Yom Kippur of 1446 B.C. "when Moses came down from the mount" (Ex. 34:29) (his second coming). Work on the Tabernacle was completed by "the first day of the first month" (Ex. 40:2) of 1445 B.C. Therefore it took about six months total.

Within that time frame, clockwise from when Moses (Ophiuchus) was told: "thou shalt make the (red radius) tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined (lunar white) linen, and (lunar) blue, and (lunar) purple, and (red radius) scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them" (26:1) and "five curtains shall be coupled together one to another (5 x 28° =140°); and other five curtains shall be coupled one to another" (5 x 28° = 140°) is 280° total. Perhaps each set simultaneously took 280 days to complete.

"And thou shalt make loops of (lunar) blue upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling; and likewise shalt thou make in the uttermost edge of another curtain, in the coupling of the second. Fifty (lunar) loops shalt thou make in the one curtain (28°), and fifty loops shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that is in the coupling of the second (28°); that the loops may take hold one of another" (Ex. 26:4-5). That would be fifty revolutions (50 x 360°) or 50 days to complete. "And thou shalt make fifty taches (lunar crescent hooks) of gold, and couple the curtains together with the taches (crescent hooks): and it shall be one (red radius) tabernacle" (Ex. 26:6). That work also took fifty revolutions (50 x 360°) or 50 days.

"And thou shalt make curtains of (red radius) (white?) (Taurus') goats' hair to be a covering upon the (red radius) tabernacle: eleven (30°) curtains shalt thou make" (26:7). Eleven days (11 x 360°) or 150 days and 180 days simultaneously (150° & 180°). "And thou shalt couple five curtains by themselves (150°), and six curtains by themselves (180°), and shalt double the sixth curtain (60°) in the forefront of the (red radius) tabernacle" (26:9).

"And thou shalt make fifty (lunar) loops on the edge of the one curtain that is outmost in the coupling, and fifty loops in the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second. That would be fifty revolutions (50 x 360°) or 50 days to complete. And thou shalt make fifty taches (crescent hooks) of brass, and put the taches (crescent hooks) into the loops, and couple the tent together, that it may be one" (26:10-11). That would be fifty revolutions (50 x 360°) or 50 days to complete.

"And thou shalt make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards on the south side southward" (26:18). (20 x 360° = 20 days to complete) "And thou shalt make forty sockets of (lunar) silver under the twenty (red radius) boards; two (lunar) sockets under one board for his two (red radius) tenons, and two (lunar) sockets under another (red radius) board for his two (red radius) tenons" (26:19). (20 x 360° = 20 days to complete) "And for the second side of the (red radius) tabernacle on the north side there shall be twenty boards" (26:20):(20 x 360° = 20 days to complete) "And their forty (lunar) sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board" (26:21) (20 x 360° = 20 days to complete). "And for the sides of the tabernacle westward thou shalt make six boards" (26:22). (6 x 360° = 6 days to complete)

"And two (red radius) boards shalt thou make for (each of) the corners of the tabernacle in the two sides" (26:23) (2 x 360° = 2 days to complete). "And they shall be coupled together beneath, and they shall be coupled together above the head of it unto one (solar golden) ring: thus shall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners" (26:24).(2 x 360° = 2 days to complete).

"And thou shalt make (red radius) bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle" (26:26). "And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the two sides westward" (26:27) (5 x 360° = 5 days to complete 15 bars)

"And thou shalt overlay the boards with gold (50 x 360° = 50 days to complete), and make their rings of gold for places for the bars (144 x 360° = 144 days): and thou shalt overlay the bars with gold" (26:29) (5 x 360° = 5 days to complete).

"And thou shalt rear up the tabernacle according to the fashion thereof which was shewed thee in the mount" (26:30). (a 60° equilateral triangular tent, not a box-shaped cube or rectangle.) (26:30)(360° = 1 day to complete)

"And thou shalt make a vail of (lunar) blue, and (lunar) purple, and (red radius) scarlet, and fine twined (lunar white) linen of cunning work: with (lunar) cherubims shall it be made:" (26:31) (360° hours or 30 days)

"And thou shalt hang it upon four (red radius) pillars of shittim wood overlaid with gold: their (crescent) hooks shall be of (solar) gold, upon the four sockets of (lunar) silver." (26:32) (360° x 2)

"And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches (crescent lunar hooks) (300° seconds to complete), that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy." (26:33)

"And thou shalt put the (solar gold) mercy seat upon the (solar golden) ark of the testimony in the most holy place." (26:34)(360° seconds to complete)

"And thou shalt set the (solar gold) table without the vail, and the (red radius) (solar gold) candlestick over against the (solar) table on the side of the (red radius) tabernacle toward the south: and thou shalt put the (solar gold) table on the north side." (26:35)(360° x 2 = 720 seconds)

"And thou shalt make an hanging for the door of the (red radius) tent, of (lunar) blue, and (lunar) purple, and (red radius) scarlet, and fine twined (lunar) linen, wrought with (red radius) needlework." (26:36) (360° hours or 30 days)

"And thou shalt make for the hanging five (red radius) pillars of shittim wood, and overlay them with (solar) gold, and their (lunar crescent) hooks shall be of (solar) gold (5 x 360° = 5 days): and thou shalt (red radius) cast five sockets of (solar) brass for them." (26:37)(5 x 360° = 5 days)

Christ in the Tabernacle (part 2)

26:1 Moreover thou shalt make the (red radius) tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and (lunar) blue, and (lunar) purple, and (red radius) scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them.

2 The length of one curtain shall be eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and every one of the curtains shall have one measure..

That is, ten curtains which each are about 42 feet long and 6 feet wide that are red, white and blue with fifty loops per curtain. Sounds like the American flag.

3 The five curtains shall be coupled together one to another (5 x 30° =150°); and other five curtains shall be coupled one to another (5 x 30° = 150°).

4 And thou shalt make loops of (lunar) blue upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling; and likewise shalt thou make in the uttermost edge of another curtain, in the coupling of the second.

5 Fifty (lunar) loops shalt thou make in the one curtain (30°), and fifty loops shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that is in the coupling of the second (30°); that the loops may take hold one of another.

6 And thou shalt make fifty taches (lunar crescent hooks) of gold, and couple the curtains together with the taches (crescent hooks): and it shall be one (red radius) tabernacle.

x10

7 And thou shalt make curtains of (red radius) (white?) goats' hair to be a covering upon the (red radius) tabernacle: eleven (30°) curtains shalt thou make.

8 The length of one curtain shall be thirty cubits (30°), and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and the eleven curtains shall be all of one measure.

That is, eleven curtains which are each about 45 feet long and 6 feet wide

9 And thou shalt couple five curtains by themselves (150°), and six curtains by themselves (150° +), and shalt double the sixth curtain (60°) in the forefront of the (red radius) tabernacle.

10 And thou shalt make fifty (lunar) loops on the edge of the one curtain that is outmost in the coupling, and fifty loops in the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second.

11 And thou shalt make fifty taches (crescent hooks) of brass, and put the taches (crescent hooks) into the loops, and couple the tent together, that it may be one.

12 And the remnant that remaineth of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remaineth, shall hang over the backside of the tabernacle.

13 And a cubit on the one side, and a cubit on the other side of that which remaineth in the length of the curtains of the tent, it shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.

That is, about 18 inches

14 And thou shalt make a covering for the (red radius) tent of rams' skins dyed (radius) red, and a covering above of badgers' skins (indigo blue leather -- badger's skins were unclean).

The original meaning of ta?aš / ta?ash / tachash / techash / t'khesh has been debated for centuries. According to Encyclopaedia Judaica the AV and JPS 1917 translation badger has no basis in fact. Translating skins ta?ashim as "badgers' skins" also presents a contradiction. The Book of Leviticus, chapter 11, forbids touching the carcasses of all animals that walk on paws, because they are tame unclean. This is no trivial matter, as God Himself is thus represented in the KJV as commanding the handling and use of skins He forbids the Israelites to touch, and as commanding them to cover the tabernacle and the ark of the covenant with unclean skins and then commanding them to remove from the camp all that is unclean so that nothing unclean will be seen by Him in the camp (Numbers 5:2-3; Deuteronomy 23:14). They are forbidden to defile the tabernacle, the sanctuary of the LORD (Leviticus 20:2-3; 21:10-12), and they are commanded to cover it with tame unclean/polluting/defiling "badgers' skins" (KJV). This is a serious difficulty.

The ancient sources before 100 B.C. all interpreted the Hebrew term literally as skins colored/leather colored, that is, as denoting a kind of "colored skins/colored leather", interpreted as being hyacinth, blue, azure, hysginus, black, violet, purple skins, evidently a deep indigo.

15 And thou shalt make (red radius) boards for the tabernacle of shittim wood standing up.

16 Ten cubits shall be the length of a board, and a cubit and a half shall be the breadth of one board.

That is, panels about 15 feet tall and 2 1/4 feet wide

17 Two (red radius) tenons (pegs) shall there be in one (red radius) board, set in order one against another: thus shalt thou make for all the boards of the tabernacle.

18 And thou shalt make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards on the south side southward. (20 x 2.25 = 45)

19 And thou shalt make forty sockets of (lunar) silver under the twenty (red radius) boards; two (lunar) sockets under one board for his two (red radius) tenons, and two (lunar) sockets under another (red radius) board for his two (red radius) tenons.

20 And for the second side of the (red radius) tabernacle on the north side there shall be twenty boards:(20 x 2.25 = 45)

21 And their forty (lunar) sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.

22 And for the sides of the tabernacle westward thou shalt make six boards. (6 x 2.25 = 13.5)

23 And two boards shalt thou make for the corners of the tabernacle in the two sides.

24 And they shall be coupled together beneath, and they shall be coupled together above the head of it unto one ring: thus shall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners.

25 And they shall be eight boards, and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.

20 + 20 + 6 + 2 = 48 boards and 96 sockets

26 And thou shalt make bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,

27 And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the two sides westward.

28 And the middle bar in the midst of the boards shall reach from end to end.

29 And thou shalt overlay the boards with gold, and make their rings of gold for places for the bars: and thou shalt overlay the bars with gold.

30 And thou shalt rear up the tabernacle according to the fashion thereof which was shewed thee in the mount.
(a 60° equilateral triangular tent, not a box-shaped cube or rectangle.)

31 And thou shalt make a vail of (lunar) blue, and (lunar) purple, and (red radius) scarlet, and fine twined (lunar white) linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:

32 And thou shalt hang it upon four (red radius) pillars of shittim wood overlaid with gold: their (crescent) hooks shall be of (solar) gold, upon the four sockets of (lunar) silver.

33 And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches (crescent lunar hooks), that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.

34 And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.

35 And thou shalt set the table without the vail, and the candlestick over against the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south: and thou shalt put the table on the north side.

36 And thou shalt make an hanging for the door of the (red radius) tent, of (lunar) blue, and (lunar) purple, and (red radius) scarlet, and fine twined (lunar) linen, wrought with (red radius) needlework.

37 And thou shalt make for the hanging five (red radius) pillars of shittim wood, and overlay them with (solar) gold, and their (lunar crescent) hooks shall be of (solar) gold: and thou shalt (red radius) cast five sockets of (solar) brass for them.

Christ in the TABERNACLE

We enter the east GATE: Matt 7:13-14 says,"Enter ye in at the strait GATE: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the GATE, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." John 10:9 says, "I am the DOOR: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture."

Then we come to a brass ALTAR of sacrifice: Hebrews 10:10-12 says, "We are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one SACRIFICE for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God." I Jn 2:1-2 says, "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world." Heb 9:14-16 says, "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the DEATH of the testator."

Then we come to the LAVER: Heb 10:22 says, "Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies WASHED with pure water." John the Baptist said "I baptize with water, but He baptizes with the Holy Spirit."

Entering the Holy Place, we see the MENORAH: John 1:4 says," In him was life; and the life was the LIGHT of men." John 15:1-4 says,"I am the true VINE, and my Father is the husbandman. Every (menorah) BRANCH in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every BRANCH that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the BRANCH cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the VINE; no more can ye, except ye abide in me." The OIL is the HOLY SPIRIT. Phil 2:15 says, "That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as LIGHTS in the world."

We eat from the Table of SHOWBREAD: John 6:35 says, "And Jesus said unto them, I am the BREAD of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst." John 6:48-69 says, "I am that BREAD of life.Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the BREAD which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living BREAD which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the BREAD that I will give is my FLESH, which I will give for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his FLESH to eat? Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the FLESH of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my FLESH, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my FLESH is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my FLESH, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is that BREAD which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this BREAD shall live for ever. ... the WORDS that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. ... Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the WORDS of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

We offer incense at the Altar of INCENSE: Hebrews 4:15-16 says,"For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace (through PRAYER), that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Revelation 8:4 says, "And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand."

The VEIL: Heb 10:19-20 says, "Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the VEIL, that is to say, his FLESH; The blue is heavenly. The purple is royalty, the robe of the King! The scarlet, the pouring out of His life in sacrifice! The fine twined linen, the perfect righteousness of His character. The cherubim, the power of God.

The ARK of the COVENANT and MERCY SEAT: Inside the Holy of Holies, a cube of 10 cubits (10 x 10 x 10 = 1000 indicating the 1000-year Millenium), contained the "ark of the testimony", an oblong chest containing the two tables of stone, the pot of manna, and Aaron's rod that budded. The broken law is covered by a Mercy Seat on which dwells the Shekinah Glory and Pillar of Cloud allowing us to become priests and have eternal life through mercy even though imperfect.

The BOARDS making the HOUSE: Eph 2:20-22 says,"And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner STONE; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy TEMPLE in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit." 1 Pet 2:4-8 says, "To whom coming, as unto a living STONE, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively STONES, are built up a spiritual HOUSE, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner STONE, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the STONE which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a STONE of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed."

Boards of Tabernacle Of Moses and Ark of Noah Explain Sacrifice of Christ

Noah was told to make a "door " "in the side" of the ark (Gen. 6:16). Christ said, "I am the door; if anyone enters by Me, he will be saved" (John 10:9).
Moses was told to make a hole in the side of each Tabernacle panel so that "the middle bar in the midst of the boards shall reach from end to end" (Ex. 26:28). Also, a "soldiers with a spear pierced his (Christ's) side, and forthwith came there out blood and water" (John 19:34). Both the Ark and the Tabernacle thereby typify Christ's wound in his side that brought us salvation.

Furthermore, each panel board is pierced five times. "They shall be coupled together beneath, and they shall be coupled together above the head of it unto one ring" (Exodus 26:24), "five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the two sides" (26:27). Two bars on one side above and beneath and two on the other side above and beneath and one through the middle from the side. The Tabernacle thereby typifies the two nails in our Lord's hands and the two nails in his feet and the spear in his side.

Furthermore, Noah's Ark was "three hundred cubits (in length), the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits" (Gen. 6:15). The boards of the Tabernacle were "ten cubits (in length), and the breadth of a board one cubit and a half" (36:21). If the tenons were 1 cubit tall and the board depth was 0.9 cubits (.5 + .2 + .2 = .9), the viewable portion (not covered by the silver bases) of the Tabernacle's boards would be exact miniature replicas of Noah's ark at a scale of 1 to 33.333 for all three dimensions. What is the significance of 33?

When the Angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she was to be with child, he underscored the Davidic promise, saying, "And the Lord God will give to him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever." King David reigned in Jerusalem (the City of Peace) for exactly 33 years, according to 1Kings 2:11. In the same way, the long awaited "Son of David" lived as a human and then died in his after 33rd year of life.

Following the precise instructions of Leviticus 12:4, Mary presented her first son at the Temple exactly 33 days after His circumcision. On that day she was told by Simeon that the child would be opposed, and a sword would pierce her heart as a result. Interestingly, the Law prescribed 33 days for the purification of a boy before it was presented. "What's the significance of these 33 days?" This presentation of the 33-day-old Jesus in the Temple foreshadows what was to come 33 years later. Our Lord breathed his final agonizing breaths to accomplish our Redemption.

Jesus was crucified at the age of 33 on Passover (John 18:39), after 3 years of ministry or three previous Passovers (John 2:13; 6:4; 11:55), which followed his baptism when he was "about 30" (Luke 3:23). Priests were required to be 30 years old “From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation” (Numbers 4:3). “David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.” (2 Samuel 5:4). Could the Tabernacle and the Ark symbolism be indicating that after 33 years the Messiah's hands, feet and side would be pierced, providing a doorway for our Salvation?

Many will object, saying that this is purely speculative since we have no archeological proof that the tenons were 1 cubit in length. But if the other two measurements were a ratio of 1:33, why not be consistent for the third also? And even if you can't accept a 1-cubit-tenon hypothesis, the length of the entire board (including tenons) is known, producing a relationship of 1 to 30 in the length and 1 to 33.333 in the width. Since Jesus was baptized at age 30 and crucified at age 33, the connection is still very strong. Christian baptism, according to Paul, is associated with death, burial and resurrection. And Peter clearly ties baptism to Noah's ark, saying, "God's patience waited in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight, persons, were saved through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you" (1Peter 3:18-22).

"As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they did not know until the flood came and swept them all away, so will the coming of the Son of Man be." (Matthew 24:37-39). One typifies the other. The Tabernacle's boards were miniature representations of Noah's Ark.

Just as the High Priest returned once a year on the Day of Atonement after sprinkling the blood of the lamb on the Mercy Seat, so Christ our High Priest will return from heaven on the Day of Atonement. We must be filled with a diet of Shewbread -- the Bible. Guided by the light of the Holy Spirit in the Menorah and pray without ceasing like incense from ther Altar of Incense (Rev. 8:4). We leave behind the five pillars of the senses: Sight, Hearing, Taste, Touch and Smell since we walk by faith, not by sight. In this Holy Place, we progress to loving God with all our heart, soul mind and strength -- the four pillars of the Holy of Holies which is 1000 cubits in area typifying the Millenium. The Tabernacle becomes more valuable as you advance up and in. Our Heart (Holy Place) and Mind (Holy of Holies) must be saturated with spiritual Scriptures. Notice the cross at the entrance of the Tabernacle.

But why, then, was there this assymetry in the design--five pillars at the entrance and only four at the curtain of the Holy of Holies? This missing pillar reminds us of how Eve was created from one of Adam's ribs. Christ as the Second Adam made his bride, the church, from His wounded side.

Jesus, God in the flesh, slept the deep sleep of death, so that we might have life. In effect, He allowed His lungs to collapse on the cross, so that ours may be supported, making us fit to breathe the breath of Heaven again, restoring our relationship with God.

There are a few other points to ponder as you look at this image. First of all, you'll notice the reddish-blueish covering that is coupled together with 50 golden clasps. God commanded Moses to create three coverings for the Tabernacle. The first covering was made of red, blue, and purple material with interwoven linen. It consisted of two sets of "curtains", each containing five strips of fabric sewn together. The two five-piece curtains became one ten-piece curtain when they were coupled together with the golden clasps, just in front of the Holy of Holies. Could these seams and openings indicate the torn and battered flesh of Jesus Christ? His body beaten blue and purple and bloody red?

Then notice how the curtain before the Holy of Holies is separating, showing the radiance of God's Shekinah glory emanating from the Ark of the Covenant. Remember that when Jesus was crucified that the veil of the Temple was torn in two, indicating that He had gained entrance for all who trust in Him as their Savior and Great High Priest (Heb. 9:11).
