Where is the United States mentioned in Bible prophecy? Should we be the "world's policeman"? Should this country be fighting a war against radical Islam? (Illustrated with drawings of Daniel's visions.)

Turn with me to Daniel 2:31-44, written in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar which is dated at 602 B.C.: "In your vision, O King, you saw a statue, very large. This image, huge and dazzling, stood before you, and its appearance was frightening. The head of this image was of fine gold, its breast and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of brass, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. As you looked, a stone was cut out by no human hand, and it smote the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces; then the whole statue collapsed into a heap of iron, clay, brass, silver and gold and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, til they could not be found. And the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth. This is the dream; Now we will tell the king what it means. You, O king ... are the head of gold. After you another kingdom will rise that is inferior to you, and another third kingdom of brass, which will rule the whole world. And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron; it shall break in pieces and subdue all these others, just as iron breaks in pieces and crushes everything else. As the feet and toes were part of potter's clay and part iron, it shall be a divided kingdom. But the firmness of iron shall be in it ... so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly brittle ... so they shall mix with eachother by intermarriage, but shall not adhere one to another. And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed: no one will ever conquer it. But it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever."

Babylon (747-539 B.C.) is described as a "golden city" (Isa. 14:4), a "golden cup" (Jeremiah 51:7) and "head of gold" (Dan. 2:38) because the ruling trinity of Babylon -- Bel, Beltis and Ishtar -- each originally had a golden statue at the summit of the temple. A century after Nebuchadnezzar's day, Herodotus still found, in Babylon, temples, altars and shrines of gold (Her. 1:183). Herodotus describes the 40-foot golden image of Marduk seated upon a golden throne before a golden table and a golden altar in Babylon. Pliny describes robes of the Babylonian priests interlaced with gold. The Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar actually set up a golden statue of himself that was 60 cubits high and six cubits wide and demanded that his subjects worship it (Dan.3) when they heard six instruments playing. Therefore, the number 666 is here associated with the worship of man. Nebuchadnezzar actually became converted (Dan. 3:29-30) and honored "the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways just; and those who walk in pride he is able to abase" (Dan. 4:37). Cyrus conquered Babylon October 29, 539 B.C. by diverting the Euphrates River from its course "by a canal into the basin ... (that was) a marsh" (Her. 1:191). Medo-Persia (539-331 B.C.) is described as silver because Persian warriors adorned themselves with silver, and their arms and shields were frequently ornamented, or cased with silver, and Persian "taxes were paid in silver" (Her. 3:90-97). The two arms of the image were the Medes and Persians. The Persian king was regarded as the incarnation of the sun or moon god, so again we have the worship of a man. Yet "The Persians have among them neither statues, nor temples, nor altars, the use of which they censure as impious, probably because, in opposition to the Greeks, they do not believe that the gods partake of our human nature." (Herodotus 1:131). Professor Rawlinson recognized the Persian religion was a very admirable form of MONOTHEISM (worship of Ormazd) (See his "Five Monarchies"). Xerxes thought it a pious act to burn the Greek temples and Cambyses himself stabbed the bull Apis, and scourged the Egyptian priests for teaching Apis-worship. The ten fingers of Medo-Persia were 1. Egypt, 2. Syria, 3. Assyria, 4. Babylonia, 5. India, 6. Bactriana, 7. Armenia, 8. Lydia, 9. Ionia, and 10. Thrace. At the Battle of Arbela in 331 B.C., Alexander the Great conquered Medo-Persia. He considered himself the divine son of Zeus Amen. Greece (331-63 B.C.) was a brass kingdom because Greek soldiers wore brass helmets and breastplates and carried brass shields and swords, brass battleaxes and spear tips. In fact, a well-known title of the Greeks was "Chalcocitones" (copper people). Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc (9 parts copper + 1 part tin = bronze) and has a hardness suitable for weapons and tools. A city in SE Greece was called "Chalcis" (meaning copper) and a peninsula in N. Greece was called "Chalcidice" from the same root since "Chalcocite" was an important copper ore (CuFeS) (Copper Pyrite). Daniel predicted that a brass empire would conquer a silver empire almost 300 years before it happened. Then Rome conquered Ptolemaic Egypt at the Battle of Actium in 31 B.C. Rome (31 B.C.-476 A.D.) is described as iron since the soldiers used "iron ... weapons" (Gibbon's Decline and Fall chapter 38:3) and wore iron helmets and carried iron shields. The two legs illustrate the division of the empire by Diocletian in 292 A.D. with capitals at Rome and Constantinople (Byzantium). Constantinople fell to the Turks in 1453 A.D.

Islam has TEN rulers (toes or horns) (Dan. 2; Dan. 7; Rev. 13). Mohammed had TEN disciples -- his Council of TEN: Abu Bakr Sadiq, U'mar ibn al-Khattab, Uthan bin Affaan, Ali Ibn abi Talib, Abdur-Rahman bin Aawf, Sad ibn Abi Aaqqas, Said ibn Zayd, Abu Ubaydah bin Jirrah, Talhah ibn Abdur Ubaydullah, and Zubayr bin Al-Awam. The first THREE Caliphs (successors of Mohammed), which were THREE of Mohammed's Council, are not recognized by the Shia sect of Islam, because they were not related to Mohammed. They are: 1. Abu Bakr Saddiq, 2.U'mar ibn al-Khattab and 3.Uthan bin Affaan. They were chosen by the strong majority sect of Islam -- the Sunnis (strong iron 90%). But "there came up among them another little horn before which there were THREE of the first horns plucked up by the roots" (Dan. 8:7). This was Ali and his Shia branch (weak clay 10%) which nullified the legitimacy of the previous THREE Caliphs who were not related to Mohammed by blood (see also Dan. 7:7-8, 21-26). "A divided kingdom" (Dan. 2:41). "They mingle ("arab") but do not adhere to one another" (Dan. 2:43). Another fulfillment of the ten contemporaneous horns will come: Psalm 83:6-9 actually names them: Edom, Ishmaelites; Moab; Hagarenes; Gebal, Ammon, Amalek, Philistines, Tyre, Assyria and Lot.

The ten contemporaneous horns may be the ten nations drawn up following the defeat ("deadly wound") of the Ottoman Empire by the British after World War One in 1920-22. They were Basrah, Baghdad, Mosul, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey Persia (Iran) and Egypt. Under British mandate Basrah, Baghdad and Mosul were later consolidated ("three horns uprooted") into provinces of Iraq. This agrees with Daniel in that one "little horn" (British) subdues three. Babylonian and Medo-Persian and Greek Empires became Iraq, Iran, Turkey,Syria, Jordan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Egypt, Lebanon, etcetera. Shiahs consider their Imams to be infallible, sinless spiritual guides. Further, the "twelvers" of the Shia branch believe this divine-like nature to be continued to the present day through their 12th Imam -- the Hidden Imam -- the Mahdi -- "like a man" but not human -- divine. How else could he be alive after 1200 years? Mahdi is the Antichrist. Thus he can sit in the "Temple of God" (2 Th. 2) which is where the Dome of the Rock is located.

In 476 A.D., pagan Rome fell when Odoacer's Heruli banished the last Roman Emperor, Romulus Augustulus. The Roman Caesars also demanded worship and claimed divinity. After the collapse of Rome in 476 A.D., the empire was divided into ten divisions. These were the kingdoms of the Ostrogoths (Hungary & Yugoslavia) , Visigoths (Spain), Vandals (N. Africa), Suevi (Portugal) , Franks (France), Alemani (Huns), Anglo-Saxons (England) , Heruli (Italy), Lombardi (Austria & Czechoslovakia), and Burgundians (Switzerland & S. Gaul). From 554 A.D. until 1814 A.D., Papal Rome ruled as the feet and toes. Our modern states of France, England, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands have, through the centuries, shifted their boundaries and organized themselves along different lines but the number TEN has remained relatively constant for ten toes. After the Roman Caesars were taken out of the way, the Roman Pontiffs were revealed. From Pagan Rome to Papal Rome the idolatrous human statue continued. Popes have claimed the tradition of being "God on earth." Remember that this image represents the worship of a man as punishment for failure to worship God properly. Notice how the historical fulfillment of this vision progressively moves NW on a map of Europe.

Daniel noted that the divided kingdoms would be partly strong and partly weak. There were numerous attempts to unite a divided Europe, and great statesmen have tried and failed. Louis XIV, Charles the Great, Napoleon, Bismarck, Kaiser Wilhelm, Adolf Hitler, and even the modern European Community are prime examples. Besides military force, the nations of Europe have endeavored to become one through political alliances and marriages between the various kingdoms: "whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men; but they shall not adhere one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. (Daniel 2:43). Ferdinand of Aragon married Isabella of Castille uniting these two territories into Spain. Napoleon, for political unity, divorced Josephine to marry Marie Louise of Austria. In 1799, Napoleon set out to give Europe one ruler, one code, one court of appeal, one coinage. Someone protested to Napoleon that Providence would not permit him to rule the world. He is reported to have said, Providence is on the side of the heaviest artillery (Craig's, Europe Since 1815, p 258). Heavy June rains came and Napoleon's heaviest artillery could not move. His fine cavalry fell in a sunken road and Wellington defeated him at Waterloo in 1815. What is the potter's clay? "O house of ISRAEL, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the CLAY is in the potter's hand, so are YOU in mine hand, O house of ISRAEL." (Jer. 18:6). "We (ISRAEL) are the CLAY " (Isa. 64:8). The Israelite nations of Europe refused to harden their hearts into IRON by worshipping a man and became Bible-following CLAY instead. But those Catholic nations, that were willing to worship a man, became the IRON toes. Each metal is stronger, harder, less valuable and lighter than the previous one making the statue top-heavy and unstable. Man's idolatrous civilization has feet of CLAY. The CLAY feet started to crack in the Protestant Reformation causing the statue to teeter and wobble. When Christ returns, the statue will BOW completely to Him as it crashes to earth. He is the ultimate meaning of the stone typified by the British Throne because he will smite the feet and rule forever on that throne of David. God sees human history as a history of hard-hearted mankind worshipping men in authority and rejecting the God of heaven and his Bible.

When this statue of Daniel 2 is placed flat across Europe with each part of the human anatomy placed over its corresponding GEOGRAPHICAL area, the FIFTH stone kingdom's identity becomes obvious. It is "cut out without hands" (Daniel 2:34) from the continent by means of Noah's Flood creating the English Channel. Notice the comparatively shallow depth of the English Channel. It is 20 fathoms or 120 feet deep -- a fathom being six feet. God created a defensive moat around the British Isles to protect them from the idolatry of Roman Catholic Europe. Britain was cut out of Europe politically and religiously at about the time of the Protestant Reformation. Notice that the STONE has to be ABOVE the feet in order to FALL on them. As Jesus said, "the kingdom of God shall be taken from you (Jews of Palestine who reject me as Messiah), and given to a nation (the "Lost Ten Tribes of Israel" in Britain) bringing forth the fruits thereof. And whosoever shall fall upon this STONE shall be broken, but on whomsoever it shall FALL, it will grind him to powder" (Matt. 21:43-44). Daniel 2:44 says, "And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people (or be conquered by another nation), but it shall BREAK in PIECES, and CONSUME all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever." ABRAHAM is the heir of the WORLD (Rom. 4:13). "And the STONE that smote the image became a great mountain (Great Britain) and filled the EARTH" (Dan. 2:35). Therefore, the world-ruling STONE empire has to be ABRAHAM'S descendants. "Thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles" (Isa. 54:3). The British Empire with its Coronation STONE (as well as the United States) became that STONE Kingdom, the FIFTH world empire after Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Pagan Rome, and Papal Rome (Gen. 49:24). After the "seven times of the Gentiles." In 1936 the British Empire was eight times the area of the previous Roman Empire which had been the largest of the four Gentile empires. The Union Jack flew over one quarter of the land surface of the earth and governed one quarter of the world's population -- it filled the whole earth -- the sun never set on the British Empire. The Roman Empire could have been put comfortably inside Australia. Babylon was 605,000 square miles. Medo-Persia was 1,360,000 square miles. Greece was 1,757,000 square miles. Rome was 2,375,000 square miles and the British Empire was 16,769,000 square miles. If the British Empire is not the STONE Kingdom, then why didn't Daniel see this largest-of-all empires as part of the statue? Does it make sense that the British Empire would not be mentioned in the Bible when all the other lesser empires of the world have been mentioned?

Israel was to grow up to become the FIFTH or STONE Kingdom in ignorance of her origin and destiny (Dan. 2:44; Rom. 11:25; Gen. 49:24). When Philip II learned of the result of the expedition, he declared, "I sent the Armada against men, not God's winds and waves". Karl Marx wrote, "England seems to be the ROCK against which all revolutionary waves are broken." Napoleon said, "If it were not for England I would conquer the world." Fascist Benito Mussolini complained in 1938 that "Italy has no FREE ACCESS to the oceans; she is actually a PRISONER ... The bars of that PRISON are Corsica (Fr.), Tunisia (Fr.), Malta (Br.) and Cyprus (Br.), and its guards are Gibraltar (Br.) and Cyprus (Br.)" William Shakespeare described England as "This fortress built by Nature for her self Against infection and the hand of war, This happy breed of men, this little world, This precious STONE set in a silver sea Which serves it in the office of a wall Or as a moat defensive to a house, Against the envy of less happier lands, This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England" (Richard II, Act 1, vv.4-11). Certainly Bible prophecy wouldn't ignore the BRITISH EMPIRE which -- with the UNITED STATES -- ruled one third of humanity, when prophecy mentions SMALLER empires such as Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome. Since the British are not any of these four empires, but came AFTER all of them, they must be the FIFTH STONE kingdom that rules the world. GEOGRAPHICALLY the British Isles fulfill the prophecies of the stone cut out of Europe -- "the stone of Israel" (Gen. 49:24).

Speaking of Israel, God says, "Thou art my battle-axe and weapons of war; for with thee will I BREAK in PIECES the nations, and with thee will I DESTROY kingdoms" (Jer. 51:20). Since both the STONE kingdom and ISRAEL DESTROY the evil kingdoms of the world, ISRAEL must be the FIFTH kingdom of STONE. Which nation HISTORICALLY smote Philip's Spanish Armada in 1588? The British. Which nation smote Napoleon Bonaparte's army and navy from 1793-1815? The British. Which nation smote Kaisar Wilhelm's German army and navy as well as Austria-Hungary in World War One (1914-1918)? The British and Americans. Who smote Mussolini's Italy and Hitler's Germany in World War Two (1939-1945)? The British and Americans. The stone that smote the image on its feet and then became a great mountain and filled the whole earth is the British Empire and United States of America. This fulfilled the scripture in Revelation 11:15 that says, "The kingdoms of this world are becoming the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ."HISTORICALLY the British Isles fulfill the prophecies of the STONE cut out of Europe that smote the image and became a great empire.

Also ETHNICALLY the British people descended from the Israelite captives who lived around the Caucasus Mountains -- hence the name Caucasians. Pliny even mentions the "Sacasani" of Armenia (Nat. Hist. 6:10) who became the Saxons of Britain. Who are the Saxons? They are Isaac's sons since Genesis 21:12 says, "through Isaac shall your descendants be named." Who are the Danes? They are Danites who were taken captive to "the cities of the Medes" (2 Ki. 17:6), just south of the Caucasus Mountains, and then sailed up the Danube, Daneister, Dnieper, Don and Rhodan (called Rhone) Rivers NW to Britain showing us their maritime routes of this seafaring Danite tribe (Judges 5:17). Who are the Hibernians? They are the Hebrews who gave their name to Ireland. The land between the Black and Caspian Seas was anciently called Iberia, where Israel was taken captive. Who are the Jutes? They are the Jews. Who are the Cymry of Wales? They came from the CRIMEA where ISRAELITE gravestones have been found (Her. 4:11; 2 Esdras 13:40-46). The Welsh Cymry derive their name from King Omri of Samaria whom the Assyrians called "Khumri" or "Ghomri" just as Hosea 1:3 prophesied. Hosea married Gomer the prostitute to typify King Hoshea who went into captivity with the "House of Omri" or "Ghomri" in Assyrian. The Hebrew word "berith" means "Covenant" and the Hebrew "ish" means "man" making the name "British" meaning "Covenant Man" -- refering to the covenant made with Abraham. The names GAELIC and GAUL both come from the Hebrew word GOLAH meaning CAPTIVITY (Ez. 39:23). Furthermore, the Hebrew word for "heifer" is "eglah" and Hosea 10:11 says that "Ephraim is an heifer" (or Eglah). In Greek, an "n" is put before a double "gg" and "eglah" was sometimes spelled with two "g"s so Ephraim became known as Englah and his land as Engla land or England. The Hebrew word "Succoth" means "hut" or "cottage" and was a name used by the Israelites taken captive to Media (2 Ki. 18:11). They were called "Succothians" or "Scythians." The Scottish Declaration of Independence says that the Scots came from Scythia. Herodotus tells us that these Scythians in "upper Asia" (4:1) lived "beyond the Araxes" and came from "across the Araxes into Cimmeria" (Her. 4:11) or the Crimea.

Not just GEOGRAPHICALLY, HISTORICALLY, and ETHNICALLY, but also CHRONOLOGICALLY the British Empire is proven to be the Israelite stone that smites the image and becomes a great mountain. God said, "I will chastise you SEVEN TIMES for your sins"(Lev.26:28), and since a "time" is 360 days (cp. Rev. 12:6,14), seven times 360 equals 2520 days. Also since a day equals a year in Bible prophecy (Num. 14:34; Ez. 4:6), the punishment becomes 2520 years (7 x 360). And "Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles until the (seven) TIMES of the Gentiles be fulfilled" (Luke 21:24).

In 745 B.C., Tiglath-Pileser (called "Pul" in the Bible -- 2 Kings 15:19; 1 Chr.5:26), the king of ASSYRIA, began the first invasion against Israel in the reign of Menahem (2 Ki.15:19-20) and forced Israel to pay tribute. From 745 B.C. we add 2520 YEARS to get 1775 plus one is 1776 A.D., the very year the American Declaration of Independence was signed and Americans no longer paid tribute. Notice the mirror image. (When crossing from B.C. to A.D. dates it is necessary to add a year to the figure since there is no year "0.").

In 740 B.C., Tiglath-Pileser began the second invasion against Israel in the reign of Pekah (2 Ki.15:20). He invaded the northern region of the land (Naphtali & Galilee -- 2 Ki. 15:29), coming down south to the level of the Sea of Galilee, where he turned eastwards and invaded the eastern portion of Israel, Transjordania, which reached southward nearly to the level of the Dead Sea. "The Reubenites, the Gadites and the half tribe of Manasseh" were brought "unto Hala, and Habor, and Hara and to the River Gozan, unto this day" (1 Chr.5:26). So they didn't return to Palestine after the 70 years of captivity of Judah since 1 Chronicles was written after that event. From 740 B.C. we add 2520 YEARS, getting 1780 plus one is 1781 A.D. This was the year that the Articles Of Confederation were ratified and adopted by the original 13 states making the first Constitution of the United States. Americans (Manasseh) were now united. They had been divided exactly 2520 YEARS before. Again a mirror image.

From 721 to 718 B.C., Shalmaneser beseiged Samaria three years in the reign of Hoshea (2 Ki.17:3-5). "In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of ASSYRIA took Samaria, and carried Israel away into ASSYRIA, and placed them in Halah and Habor by the river of Gozan, in the cities of the Medes" (2 Ki.17:6). This invasion terminated the Kingdom of Israel. 27,280 Israelites were led captive (see Sargon's Assyrian inscription). But Sargon didn't remove the entire nation of Israelites (see 2 Ki. 18:9-12; 2 Chr.30-31 & 34; cp. Hos.1:4 with 1:6). From 721 B.C. we add 2520 YEARS to get 1799, plus one is 1800 A.D. Samaria the capital city was destroyed in 721 B.C. and 2520 years later saw the building of Washington D.C. in 1800. It was this very year (Oct.1, 1800) that Spain gave France the Louisiana Territory. The U.S. (Thomas Jefferson) purchased it in 1803 from Napoleon which is 718 B.C. + 2520 years. Thomas Jefferson bought 827,987 square miles of land from France for about $15 million. That's just under 4 cents per acre. Israel's land had been lost to ASSYRIA exactly 2520 YEARS before. This very year 1800 was also when England, Scotland and Ireland united to become "Great Britain." These Ephraimites and Judahites had been divided in 721 B.C. because the ASSYRIANS left the Kingdom of Judah alone and only invaded the Kingdom of Israel. Except for "gleaning grapes" from the ten tribes (Isa. 17:6; 2 Chr. 34:9), "There was none left but the tribe (Kingdom) of Judah only" (2 Kings 17:18). The Act of Union of Great Britain and Ireland occurred January 1st, 1801 to become the United Kingdom ruled over by a descendant of King David. Also, England's war with France ended in 1801 after General Abercrombie defeated the French army at Alexandria. Ezekiel, over a century later in 593 B.C. (Ez.1:2), prophesied that this captivity which began in 721 B.C. would last 390 YEARS (Ez.4:3-5) which brings us to 331 B.C. when Medo-Persia was conquered by Alexander the Great who defeated Darius at Arbela (Gaugamela). The House of Israel gained its freedom as a Scythian nation after 390 YEARS of slavery to successive gentile powers and started migrating to Scotland.

In 677 B.C., Esar-Haddon, son of Sennacherib, invaded Judah (2 Chr.33:11) and the remnant of Israel when they were ruled by an Assyrian governor and replaced them with Samaritans (2 Ki.17:24; Ezra 4:2). The fulfillment for Judah came in 1844 when the Sultan of Turkey was forced by the European Powers to give religious liberty to the Jews 2520 YEARS from the overthrow of Judah. For Israel this invasion fulfilled Hosea 1:6 that said, "I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel, but I will utterly take them away." As Isaiah 7:8 states, "Within three score and five years shall Ephraim be broken that it be not a people." This was uttered about 742 B.C., making 677 B.C. exactly 65 years later (cp. Hos.1:4). There was left in the nest "none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped" (Isa.10:14). From 677 B.C., we add 2520 YEARS to get 1843, plus one is 1844 when Texas became a U.S. territory. One year later, in 1845, the Texas became a state which included large parts of New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma as well as what is known as Texas today. In 1846 the Pacific Northwest was given to the U.S. by Great Britain via treaty. In 1848 the U.S. acquired California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona and more from Mexico. In 1853 the U.S. bought a relatively small slice of land known as the "Gadsden Purchase." Then in 1867, Alaska was purchased from Russia for 7.2 million which was two cents per acre. In 1898 Hawaii was annexed. Just as 677 B.C. started a slow snow-balling cumulative collapse of Israel which took some time to accomplish, so the U.S. began a slow rise to great wealth beginning in 1844. In ancient times, it took years to besiege cities, transport armies and populations, and plunder and remove booty and take possession of the land.

The evidence is clear. GEOGRAPHICALLY, HISTORICALLY, ETHNICALLY, and also CHRONOLOGICALLY the British Empire and the United States are proven to be the Israelite stone that smites the image on his feet and becomes a great mountain filling the whole earth.Yes, God is using America and Britain to defeat idolatry around the world and set up his kingdom based upon the Bible. We have a Biblical duty to fight against radical Islam. This amazing prophecy was revealed by God to Daniel in 602 B.C.

The four Gentile Empires have possessed the Holy Land for a combined total of "42 MONTHS" or 1260 days which symbolize 1,260 years (Num. 14:34; Ez. 4:6): Babylon possessed Palestine for 90 years, from 624 to 534 B.C. Medo-Persia for 200 years, from 534 to 334 B.C. Greece for 304 years from 334 to 30 B.C. and Rome for 666 years from the Battle of Actium in 31 B.C. to the Saracen conquest in 636 A.D. Now 90 + 200 + 304 + 666 = 1,260 years. These four Gentile powers "tread under foot" the physical Jerusalem for 42 months (1,260 days), Then Omar the Turk took Jerusalem in 637 A.D. When we add 1,260 more years to this date we come to 1897 when the Zionist Movement was founded in Basel, Switzerland by Jews of all nations desiring to settle in the Holy Land.

In 604 B.C., Nebuchadnezzar's Babylonian Chaldean army took tribute from Jerusalem. Jehoiakim was taken captive (cp.Jer.25:1 & Dan.1:1-2). 2520 YEARS later on November 2, 1917, the Balfour Declaration gave Jews authority for "the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people." On December 9th 1917, (during the Festival of Hanukkah which commemorates the recapture of the Temple by Judas Maccabeas) British General Allenby liberated Jerusalem from the Turks. It was the 24th day of the ninth month of the Jewish calendar. Jews lost their authority over Jerusalem for "SEVEN TIMES" punishment (Lev.26:28). Jesus said, "Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled" (Luke 21:24). This scripture alone should be sufficient witness that Britain is Israel.

By the end of the First World War (1917-1918 A.D.) these same gentile empires were all devastated and fell: Germany, Austro-Hungary, Turkey and Russia. "I beheld till the thrones were cast down" (Dan. 7:9). Kaisar Wilhem of Germany abdicated 9 Nov 1918. Over the next three years, France, Poland, Denmark and Belgium took territory from Germany. The partition of the Austro-Hungarian Empire into Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland, Yugoslavia, Romania and Italy was accomplished in 1918-1919. The partition of the Ottoman Empire began with the Armistice of Mudros 30 Oct. 1918. French took Lebanon-Syria and British took Palestine-Trans-Jordan-Iraq. On March 1, 1924, Mustapha Kemal demanded the abolition of the Caliphate and two days later this throne was cast down. Along with the Bolshevik Russian Revolution of Oct 1917, the Czar Nicolas and his family were executed and the Greek Orthodox Church fell to atheistic tyrants. Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia gained independence. Also Finland. Romania took Bessarabia. All of Queen Victoria's relatives throughout Europe were deposed. This Babylonian image had been smitten by the British Empire and the United States who together formed that "STONE" that "became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth" (Dan. 2:35).

In 597 B.C. Nebuchadnezzar conquered Jerusalem. 2520 YEARS later in 1924 the Caliphate was abolished and Turkish power and influence ended. Also the University of Jerusalem was opened in 1925 on Mt. Scopus, 2520 years after the deportation of many of Jerusalem's rulers, priests, and elders as mentioned in Ezekiel. Also in 1925 some 38,000 Jews returned to Palestine.

In 586 B.C. the temple was destroyed and King Zedekiah was taken captive by these Chaldeans (Jer.39). Nebuchadnezzar "carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths, And ... Jehoiachim ... And his officers, and the mighty of the land ... to Babylon" (2 Ki. 24:14-17). 2520 YEARS later we get 1934 plus one equals 1935. "With the ascent of Hitler to power in Germany (1934), a new type of Jew began immigrating to Palestine, favorably timed with the country's economic development. By 1936 there were 60,000 German Jews in Palestine, providing her with much needed scientists, engineers, managers, chemists and research men to increase her productive capacity and to improve the quality of her goods." (p.403, Dimont's Jews, God and History).

Notice also that it is STARTING "in the days of these (four) kings ... (that) the God of heaven set up a (fifth STONE) kingdom" (Dan. 2:44). Not AFTER all four are destroyed as those who believe only in a spiritual kingdom advocate. It would continue and "never be destroyed." It was the kingdom that BROKE all these other kingdoms to bits when their time had come. The FIFTH empire was to begin WITH the first of the four, and CONTINUE alongside all of them.

Let us go back in time and see if we can determine WHO actually DESTROYED each of the FOUR GENTILE empires.

In Nebuchadnezzar's time all Israel, excepting the tribes of Dan and Benjamin, had been made captives and became known as Manda. Professor Sayce ("Higher Critics and the Monuments", pp. 451, 520) says that the "Manda of Ecbatana were the Scythians of classical history; ... it is they who, in concert with the Kimmerians, the Minni and Kasterit, or Xathrites of Karu-Kassi, attacked the overgrown Assyrian Empire in the time of Esarhaddon. It is they again who are called upon in the prophecies of Jeremiah (Jer. 50:9, 25, 41;51:19-20; 27; Isa. 13:3)("Higher Criticism" p. 519, Sayce) to join in invading the empire of Nebuchadnezzar." These prophecies occur in the 50th and 51st chapters: "call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz" (51:27) -- "my sanctified ones" (Isa. 13:3). What is another name for these people?

In the case of BABYLON'S destruction, it was the GUTI, mentioned as being of the white race, under Gobryas, who helped Cyrus capture Babylon. GUTIUM or GUTA was located in the same area where the ten tribes of Israel had been taken as captives -- "the cities of the Medes" (2 Ki. 17:6). GUTIUM territory extended from the upper Euphrates on the west to the Median Mountains on the east. Yes, Israel was "NEAR" as Daniel said (Daniel 9:7). The MassaGETAE sometime later killed Cyrus of PERSIA (Herodotus 1:212; Isa. 44:28; Jer. 51:23). Isaiah 44:28 calls Cyrus "the shepherd" and then Jeremiah 51:23 says Israel will "break ... the shepherd." Therefore ISRAEL must have been the MassaGETAE and by extention also the GUTI. Perhaps these were JEWS who became GUTI, then GETAE, then GOTHS, then JUTES throughout history. According to Justin, the GETAE had no homes other than covered wagons, and coveted neither gold nor silver (p.90, Rollin's Ancient History). This agrees with the prophecy about the Medes who "would not regard silver, and as for gold, they shall not delight in it" (Isa. 13:17).

Babylon was "left to other people" (cp. Dan. 2:44) -- the Medo-Persians. Darius the Mede was defeated about 507 B.C. by the SCYTHIAN Idanthyrsus and hurried back to Asia. GOTHS probably helped Alexander the Great at Issus and Arbela in defeating MEDO-PERSIA because Philip his father had made an alliance with the GOTHS, and took Meda the daughter of their king to wife. Dr. George Moore in Saxons East and West, page 261, says, "The inhabitants of the country of ... GOTHS, spoke the same language as the ISRAELITES." Alexander the Great may have been an ISRAELITE of the tribe of DAN himself. The Macedonians were Israelites of the tribe of "Danai" (Strabo 5:2:4) (Latham's Ethnology of Europe, p.157). In the name "Macedonia" the prefix "Mace" like that of "Massa" in Massagetae, signifies "great" -- Great Danites. "Massa" means "great" in Pehlevi (Encyc. Brit. 12:789). Also the Spartans or Lacedemonians were Danites (Ant. 12:4:10) (1 Macc. 12:20-21). "Argos" is derived from regoz which means box in Hebrew -- the Argo being a ship carrying cargo to trade (Judges 5:17; Ez. 27:19). Greece was "left to other people" when Rome invaded.

Diodorus and Appian mention that the Gauls who invaded GREECE were KIMBRI. Their name was SENONES and may be a Latin representation of the Israelite tribe of SIMEON. In 279 B.C. KYMRIC ISRAEL left northern Italy. Entering Macedonia, they defeated and slew Ptolemy Ceraunus, the GREEK successor of Alexander the Great. They crossed the Hellespont into Asia. From 278 B.C. to 267 A.D. they occupied a district in the heart of Asia Minor which received the name Galatia. In 261 B.C. they defeated and slew Antiochus 1, the representative in Syria of the former GREEK empire of Alexander. Fifty years after the death of Alexander, Strabo says, "Dromichaetes, who was king of the GETAE, took captive Lysimachus, the GREEK successor of Alexander the Great who had come to wage war against him. He showed him the poverty and frugality of the GETAE, made a treaty of friendship with him, and allowed him to depart" (Strabo 7:3:9) but only after a heavy ranson had been paid for his release.

Then PARTHIANS and GERMANS fought against ROMANS. Carbo, Cassius, Scaurus Aurelius, Servilius Cepio and Marcus Manlius, with their five consular armies, were all taken prisoner or slain by the TEUTONS and CIMBRI. The VANDALI, whom Pliny and Tacitus found in north Germany, fought with Belisarius in the plains of Numidia. In 9 A.D. the ROMAN commander Quintilius Varus, led an army of three legions against Arminius or Hermann, the leader of the CHERUSCI who were ancestors of the old SAXONS. Motivated by "love of their national free institutions," these GERMANS showered arrows on the long columns of ROMANS. The Saltus Teutobergiensis was the site of the battle. Varus committed suicide. Very few survivors made it back to ROME. Augustus often beat his head against a wall and exclaimed, "Quintilius Varus, give me back my legions." Had Arminius been unsuccessful, our GERMAN ancestors would have been enslaved or exterminated in GERMANY and ENGLAND would never have existed or dominated the world. In 410 A.D., Alaric the VisiGOTH -- who believed himself to be the "Hammer of God" -- captured ROME. GOTH and GETAE may be derived from GUTI which comes from JUTE, or JUDAH while the KYMRI, SCYTHIANS, PARTHIANS and SAXONS are ISRAEL. There was an Israelite civilization in Italy amongst the Latins. The ETRURIANS were no doubt mainly Hebrews. (See "Benjamin in Rome" p.39; "Britain in History" ch. 14, by Mrs. Albert Rogers; Ritson's "Celts" and "Britanni in South Italy.") "The saints (ISRAELITES) of the Most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever and ever ... and all kingdoms shall serve and obey him" (Dan. 7:18). The two legs of the statue represent ROME and CONSTANTINOPLE. In 476 A.D. Odoacer ended the western ROMAN leg and in 1453 A.D. MOSLEMS ended the eastern BYZANTINE leg. Rome was "left to other people."

As truly as the four kingdoms (Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome) were material, human kingdoms, so surely is the FIFTH STONE Kingdom a real material kingdom ruled over by kings, and made up of men.

The Gospels teach TWO KINGDOMS. First notice the human, PHYSICAL Kingdom of ISRAEL: The "kingdom (physical) shall be taken from you, and given to a (physical) nation bringing forth the fruit thereof" (Matt.21:43). "Whosoever shall fall upon this (physical) stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it shall grind him to (physical) powder" (Matt. 21:44). This is the Israelite "stone cut out without hands" (Dan. 2:45).

Now notice the references to the SPIRITUAL Kingdom of HEAVEN: "But "my kingdom is not of this world (spiritual)" (John 18:36). "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (spiritual)" (John 3:3). "The kingdom of heaven (spiritual) is at hand" (Matt. 3:2)."Like a grain of mustard seed (spiritual)" (Matt. 13:31). "And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the (spiritual) kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom (physical) shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matt. 8:11-12).

"The SAINTS of the Most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever and for ever" (Dan. 7:18). Who are these SAINTS? The SAINTS are ISRAELITES who OBEY GOD. Remember that Jesus took the kingdom of heaven from Judah in Palestine because they did NOT OBEY God even though they were hereditarily ISRAELITE and gave it to a people "bringing forth the fruits thereof" (Matt. 21:43). "Other sheep I have which are not of this fold" -- the lost sheep of the house of ISRAEL. Heredity by itself is not salvation. Also in Acts 9:34 Peter came down "to the SAINTS" which dwelt at Lydda and healed Aeneas. Then the SAINTS "turned to the Lord." Although they were SAINTS because they OBEYED GOD, they were not Christians before this miracle. In Acts 9:40 after Peter raised Tabitha, "when he had called the SAINTS and widows, presented her alive ... and many believed in the Lord." They were SAINTS before this because they OBEYED GOD, but they didn't believe in Jesus before this. In Moses blessing these words occur: "Yea, he loved the people; all his SAINTS are in thy hand, and they sat down at thy feet, they shall receive of thy words." SAINTS here are apparently just ISRAELITES who OBEY his word. In Psalm 148:14 "He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his SAINTS; even of the children of ISRAEL, a people near unto him." (see also Psalm 149). Why are they near him? Because they have FORSAKEN WICKEDNESS (Isa. 55:6-7). Heredity alone doesn't make one a SAINT. Neither does mere belief in Jesus. "The demons also believe, and tremble" (James 2:19). SAINTS are those who OBEY GOD.

It is interesting to speculate on why Babylon was portrayed as gold. Perhaps because righteous Daniel was placed over 120 princes as ruler of the kingdom (Dan. 5:29; 6:1). Why was Medo-Persia portrayed as silver? Perhaps because righteous Mordecai was promoted next to King Ahasuerus over that world power (Esther 10:3).

The SAINTS "keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus" (Rev. 14:12). They transition into an immortal, eternal government. Hence, it is written, "Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city"; that is, that they may have right to immortality, and may enter into the kingdom by resurrection to everlasting life (Rev. 22:14). They therefore "yield their members servants to righteousness unto holiness"; for "having been made free from sin, and become servants to God, they have their fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life" (Rom. 6:19, 22). When the resurrection occurs at the Second Coming of our Lord, they will be resplendent in glory as well as immortal. "Let the saints be joyful in glory; let them sing aloud upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; to execute vengeance upon the nations, and punishments upon the people; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints" (Psa. 149:5-9).

2:1 And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.

2 Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.

3 And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.

4 Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.

5 The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.

He did not forget the dream, as generally imagined, from the expression, "the thing is gone from me," (verses 5 and 8), which may rather be rendered, with the Septuagint and Arabic, "the decree is gone forth from me," and shall not be reversed; or with the Syriac version, "the decree which I have pronounced is certain," or unalterable.

6 But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof.

7 They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it.

8 The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.

9 But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof.

10 The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king's matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.

11 And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.

12 For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.

13 And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.

14 Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king's guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:

15 He answered and said to Arioch the king's captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.

16 Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.

17 Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:

18 That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:

21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter.

24 Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation.

25 Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.

26 The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?

27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;

28 But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;

29 As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.

30 But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.

31 Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.

32 This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,

33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.

34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great (Milky Way) mountain, and filled the whole earth.

36 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.

37 Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.

38 And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold (sun in Sagittarius).

39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee (moon in Aquarius), and another third kingdom of brass (Jupiter in Aquarius), which shall bear rule over all the earth.

40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise (Venus in Taurus' horns).

41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay (Mars in Cancer).

44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed (British Empire and Bible followers): and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

46 Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.

47 The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

48 Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.

49 Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.
