Isaiah Chapters 34-35 Star Charts: Edom was always foremost among the enemies of Judah. Edomites had invaded Judah in the days of Ahaz (2Chronicles 28:17). The inscriptions of Sennacherib (Lenormant, Anc. Hist., i. 399) show that Edom submitted to him. Therefore, they probably played a part in his invasion of Judah, in his attack on Jerusalem, and suffered when the angel of the Lord slew 185,000 in the Assyrian camp. Early the next morning, there they were, all the (black zodiac constellation) corpses of the dead (including Edomites). So Sennacherib, the king of Assyria, broke camp and went back home to Nineveh" (2 Ki. 18-19). The putrid carcasses of the slain that had covered Tophet, the Valley of Hinnom in 701 B.C., after the pestilence had done its work on Sennacherib’s army, dovetails well into the description of Edomite bodies stinking (34:3). We think the starchart positions are also the same, and therefore the same dates apply. Clockwise from 703 to 701 B.C. is once again the time element -- 540° days after Isaiah received this vision -- when the "indignation of the Lord" came "upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the (black zodiac corpses) slaughter" (34:2) when they "came near" to Jerusalem in 701 B.C. (34:1).

In Ps. 83 we find Edom connected with the Assyrian against Israel. They "became as (brown lunar) dung for the earth" "and as the (yellow solar) flame setteth the mountains on fire"-- just as the psalm says. In the confederacy against Israel figured "the tabernacles of Edom." It is the first power mentioned, of course not as the mightiest, but helping fight against Israel. God had a great sacrifice of all nations by means of the Assyrian army, and those nations which were confederate with them in this expedition, which was composed of many ethnicities.

Of course later the Edomites were, together with the rest of the neighboring nations, ravaged and laid waste by Nebuchadnezzar; see Jeremiah 25:15-26; Malachi 1:3, Malachi 1:4, and see Marsham, Can. Chron. Saec. xviii., who calls this the age of the destruction of cities. The general devastation spread through all these countries by Nebuchadnezzar was not the event which the prophet has primarily in view in the thirty-fourth chapter: this event, as far as we have any account of it in history, seems by no means to come up to the terms of the prophecy.

Seek Ye Out of the Book of the Lord, and Read

34:1 Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it.

2 For the indignation of the Lord is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter (701 B.C.).

3 Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their (red radius lines) blood.

4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll (stars spinning): and all their host shall fall down, as the (brown lunar) leaf falleth off from the (Milky Way) vine, and as a (brown lunar) falling fig from the (Milky Way) fig tree.

5 For my (radius line) sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse (Orion and Auriga), to judgment.

6 The sword of the Lord is filled with (red radius line) blood, it is made fat with (brown lunar and yellow solar) fatness, and with the (red radius line) blood of lambs and goats, with the (brown lunar and yellow solar) fat of the kidneys of rams: for the Lord hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.

7 And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.

8 For it is the day of the Lord's vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion (701 B.C.).

9 And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into (yellow sun sulfur) brimstone, and the land thereof shall become (lunar brown) burning pitch.

10 It shall not be quenched night nor day; the (Milky Way) smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.

11 But the cormorant and the bittern shall possess it; the owl also and the (Corvus) raven shall dwell in it: and he shall stretch out upon it the (radius) line of confusion, and the (lunar brown) stones of emptiness.

12 They shall call the nobles thereof to the kingdom, but none shall be there, and all her princes shall be nothing.

13 And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and brambles in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be an habitation of dragons, and a court for owls.

14 The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest.

15 There shall the great owl make her (brown lunar) nest, and lay (yellow sun egg), and hatch, and gather under her (brown lunar) shadow: there shall the vultures also be gathered, every one with her mate.

16 Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read (Milky Way scroll with two seals): no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.

17 And he hath cast the lot for them (Ophiuchus threw the brown dice), and his hand hath divided it unto them by line (Ophiuchus or Auriga holds the plumb line): they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.

35:1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the (gold sun & brown moon) rose.

2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God.

3 Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees (Auriga holding a staff in a chariot and Ophiuchus holding a staff).

4 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.

5 Then the (solar and lunar closed) eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the (solar and lunar plugged) ears of the deaf shall be unstopped (red radius line ear plugs).

6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart (Ophiuchus walking with a cane), and the tongue of the dumb sing (yellow solar tongue or lunar brown tongue): for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert (white and green Milky Way).

7 And the (lunar brown) parched ground shall become a pool, and the (yellow solar) thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be (Milky Way green) grass with (red radius line) reeds and rushes.

8 And an (red radius lines) highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:

10 And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads (Zodiac is a smiling face): they shall obtain joy and gladness, and (solar) sorrow and (lunar) sighing shall flee away.
